Scientific Review Process

Abstract Peer-Review Process & Guidelines

Prism Scientific Services and the Organizing Committee of Aquaculture Horizons 2026 are committed to maintaining a rigorous, fair, and high-quality peer-review process for all abstracts submitted to the conference. Each submission will be evaluated by a panel of subject experts, session chairs, and/or the Conference Chairs to ensure scientific quality, relevance, and contribution to the advancement of aquaculture.

The review process aims to identify research and case studies that present novel findings, practical innovations, technological advancements, policy developments, or industry best practices that contribute to sustainable aquaculture and the blue economy.

The Scientific Committee will determine whether an accepted abstract is most suitable for an Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation based on reviewer evaluations, scientific merit, and programme requirements.

Aquaculture Horizons 2026 follows a single-blind or double-blind peer-review process, depending on the review requirements of each session, to ensure an objective and impartial evaluation.

Peer-Review Process

  • All submitted abstracts are initially screened by the conference editorial team to ensure they comply with the conference scope, formatting requirements, and submission guidelines.
  • Abstracts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to the relevant Session Chair and/or members of the Scientific Review Committee for evaluation.
  • Where appropriate, the Session Chair or Scientific Review Committee may invite independent expert reviewers to provide additional assessments. The number of reviewers assigned will depend on the subject area and complexity of the submission.
  • Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Scientific Committee may:
✔ Accept the abstract for presentation;
✔ Request minor or major revisions;
✔ Recommend conversion between oral and poster presentation; or
✔ Decline the submission if it does not meet the required scientific or technical standards.
  • Authors requested to revise their abstracts will normally be given 14 days to submit a revised version for further consideration.
  • Abstracts submitted by invited speakers, keynote speakers, and plenary speakers will be reviewed by the Conference Chairs and the Scientific Committee.
